Although ecommerce growth is leveling off, it continues to play a major role in how consumers shop for holiday gifts. Adobe estimates that holiday shoppers this year will spend $209.7 billion online between November and December, a 2.5% increase over 2021.
This season will also see some of the biggest—and earliest—discounts, especially during the Cyber Five period from Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday, when discounting is expected to be as high as 32%. Even with these sales, consumers will be spending more and getting less.
Watch this very special, exclusive Tech-Talk Webinar, where, in addition to Adobe’s outlook for Cyber Five and the holiday season overall, you’ll learn:
- Which key trends, like buy now, pay later and curbside pickup, retailers should be paying attention to
- How inflation, supply disturbances, and rising interest rates are impacting online retailers and consumers
- What to expect for discounts, and why it will be a hard fight for consumer dollars this year
